    Trucking for dummies!

The only place you can legally park a placard load is ?

That was a rhetorical question....no need to answer.

He should be able to get from to NJ to VA drop then do his ten empty. Trip plan the route based upon delivery time.

    Class 1.1, 1.2, and 1.3 only. I'm currently hauling class 1.4 and am parked at a T/A.

Depends on how long it takes to unload his current load, drive the two hours to pick up, and then live load the hazmat load.

The regulation is actually kinda vague.
    §397.5 (d)(3)

A safe haven is an area specifically approved in writing by local, State, or Federal governmental authorities for the parking of unattended vehicles containing Division 1.1, 1.2, or 1.3 materials.

For a specific truckstop, how would you know?

The one truck stop I've been to with a Safe Haven, had a designated area marked with a metal sign and surrounded by a chainlink fence inside the truck parking area of the truck stop. I think it was a TA south of Chicago, perhaps Gary, IN.
