Do that with any weight and those permits are astronomical. I came thru the panhandle of OK last week at 133000 and paid 512 dollars to run 38 miles. TX was $381.

Yep, my Ok. for this trip grossing 129,000 was 584.96. From the Ar. line to Ok. city. Running interstate. Running 2 lane it's cheaper, but time consuming

    LOL "superload"????

No, I can log on to http://www.servicearizona.com and 3 minutes later I get that permit out of my printer and go to work. Credit card was charged $30...
I just faxed my California Variance permit to Cal-trans a few hours ago and am surprised it didnt come back today, should be in my fax machine in the morning, $16...
New Mexico has self issue for mobile homes up to 16' wide 80' long. I pay $25 each and have a pack of them in my truck.. Done...
Texas charges my card when I order over the phone, I thought they were $20 but could be a few dollars more. Sorry if I was a little off on that one. Either way, 30 minutes on the phone is the longest I ever spent getting TX permits.

You rednecks sure like to make a big deal about using them new fangled computin' thangs don'tcha? Go ahead and give your money to someone you will never meet to do something you could do yourself and pay yourself $50 an hour to do some simple faxing and a few e-mails...

Sorry, I thought the OP said "oversize". Not overweight. I spent 2 weeks and about $3500 permitting a D-8 on a 9 axle a few years ago from northern Nevada to Bagdad AZ. I think I was about 133K gross.

the numbers listed on the atlas. or there corresponding web addresses, also listed in the atlas.

why pay for a service. and get second hand information that from what i've seen. didn't really know what they were talking about.

get information straight from each state. better off.

dont always have time to sitting around on the computer and faxing things, some of these loads are time consuming to secure 4-6 hrs is not uncommon time frame sometimes even more.thats why ssome of us pay for the permit service, and the info ,,its on the permit whats not to underdstand?

Thanks for the heads up. Executive order 2013-7 was filed in Feb 2013 and raised all state service fees considerably. Good luck getting overweight permits in Oklahoma.

Just went to my credit card statement online.... Texas is charging $40 for oversize permits now!!!! JAYZUS!!! I probably got an e-mail telling me about it but sent it to the trash file like I do everything else i get from any DOT office.

In the past 10 years the cost of EVERYTHING to transport freight has DOUBLED, the reward for doing it has been halved.

I used buds permits service out of Baltimore Maryland, ran on blanket permits whenever possible. Most my loads started at 75k and up but super loads were permitted via buds service.

Ordering permits was better than a day at home trying to route and get everything else in order. Doing a load is better than office work anyways.
