oversize permits

    ND and SD are crawling because of the oil fields. I haul almost exclusivly in ND and MN and get overweight permits regurally. ND is usually decent to deal with but ya better have a copy with you.When in doubt bring doubles!

    Nah, it's something else. We run up there to the fields and back all the time and they haven't been this wound up for a while. This is actually the first time I've even seen them out, and they're out in force.

    They seem to be going after mostly hay wagons, because of the permit change. Problem is, for them, that something about the permits exempt us for some of the normal rules, like having your tires aired up. One of our other guys got pulled into one of those little temp scales and he had a completely flat tire, his airbags on one axle weren't working at all, and something else that would get him put OOS. They had to let him go because of the hay permit. No tickets, warnings, nothing.

    So they'll probably be changing the permits again to fix that little screwup.
