Oversize provisions

    Got another oversize. I'm only 10'6" wide again. This time I have a fire truck.

    Now last time I had an oversize load I would pull through a weigh station, go across the scales and weigh up. Then I would park and take my permit in.

    Do I really need to do this? Or can I go across the scales, get a green light from the officer and keep on going?

    Why didn't you fold the mirrors in and keep it from being an oversize load altogether? Would have been much simpler...

    Unless I'm not seeing (or can't see something that's sticking out, as well... quite possible, I'm not wearing my glasses [truly])...

    The mirrors don't fold in. They only rotate.

    I tried to keep it from being an oversize, but after I couldn't I got my permits and took the extra pay and being paid hub miles gladly haha

    And no way to unbolt them? I can also understand a dealership/ manufacturer not wanting them messed with.

    If I have a truck on my trailer the mirrors are getting sucked in one way or another, simpler that way to me...

    It's not me saying you did anything wrong, just different ways in which we run. I get wide enough with other loads...

    No, I would have to take the door panel off inside. No way roehl would let me do something like that to this brand new truck. I didn't have to pay for permits so I didn't mind it being oversize. I get paid extra for it.

    Just my way, unless they can be safely folded in I do not put a wrench to other peoples freight without written permission, it may come back to haunt you.
