Only on I-43 North right as you enter the county and they only trip if you're over 14'2" This guy was taller than that and had to have come up I-94.

Not really. That's part of the job. Don't always get to just stay on the interstate.

I'll be running a 125'L, 11'W, 14'5"H load through town next week. Even though it's not written on the permit as required I'll have 2 private escorts and cops for portions of the route because I am going to be on some 2 lane roads through residential areas to get where I need to go. Have to go those routes because I'm too tall to go any other way. Without the cops some of the turns would be impossible due to other traffic that will drive around private escorts.

Just for fun here's a common route we use to run overheight between 2 customers. Not uncommon for them to be 15+ high. These customers are normally about a 30 minute drive. This route with the height can take upwards of 90 minutes one way.

####, That is like so far outta the way lol....... Yeah I never did overheight, Just overlength and weight usually... ...But now the Newbies are moving that easy OD stuff for rates that make you "upset" If I told you.

And yes, They wear dark socks and carry water bottles to the truckstop bathrooms.

I was bored and kept thinking about it and if they guy was just going straight through this would be a viable over height route through Milwaukee. It's entirely surface streets but has no overpasses and all state routes. Would probably take a lot longer but it's doable.

Yeah, wait til you see the ones with the whole Brigade of Officers, Oversize Escorts, Power Trucks (for disconnecting the Electricity) plus the lift trucks to lift the wires. And then some of those extra heavy loads have a pusher Truck attached at the rear :biggrin_25521:
