    Local truck drivers that continue the delivery or out of state goods are exempt from overtime according to the 7th circuit court of appeals.

    The question that remains is what about the drivers that pick up and deliver goods in state. They are not carrying goods subject to federal interstate laws.

    North Dakota oilfield drivers have been in limbo for years about it as many companies claim the exemption because they are subject to federal law even if the saltwater never leaves the state.
