    Hi, truckers!
Recently I got overweight violation (more then 5k) and was declared out of service in CA because of that.
I'm trying to figure out how that affects my CSA record now. Any ideas?

You are going to be reported. Don't worry about that.

Sleep till your OOS is over, scrape together your fine money, pay it.

In my time we broke scales and are fined thousands and not put out of OOS.

I don't know yet.. but fine should be paid by my company I hope so. I'm worried more about CSA points I could get now.
I know that overweight ticket should not affect driver's CSA score but i got OOS as a result and that can create some points, right?

    Yes. OOS is reported.

And yes the overweights created a LOSS for you and your company, it will be reported somewhere. DAC maybe.

I got OOS once after I blasted a NY Cop on the binghamption autobahn at 110 and chased into a rest area filled with DOT ready to inspect. I waited one hour after they left, removed the sticker and gtfo out NY dead south bound and gone.

I was a pariah for several months due to that. But that was before CDL etc. It takes a while to get the word around.

Just wondering, if you are oos, then that means you have to have some of your load taken off before you can leave, right?

As for your CSA score, why ask, that's not your problem, you need to learn how to say no about overloading.

Yes, trailer should be reloaded or some weight should be taken off. Shipper loaded me wrong way, I am legal in other states with spread axles but not legal in CA because of 40' rule.

You don't have a CSA score, only the company does. No such thing as a personal CSA score for a driver.

    Questions:

Did your run originate or end in California?
Are you pulling a 53 ft step with the sliding rear axle?
Do you know where the center of the trailer is for loading (and don't say the center marker light)?

Driver's do have a score. Certain violations go against a driver and certain go against a company, or both.

If the D.O.T sheet says "No Violations" then you're all good.
