It was not for weight issues, but I moved the whole fifthwheel mounting assembly probably a foot on my internationals .
My W9L is overweight on the steers bobtailing, no problem getting weight off of it even with an empty trailer if I need to.

The problem with just moving your plate back is you could create the situation where your only legal with a trailer attached, still not legal bobtail. Which could get you by, But it could change the way your truck acts in inclement weather. Kind of like a overloaded bumper pull trailer on a half ton pickup. (Very exaggerated example)
You really need to either remove weight or add weight rating. Adding rating would be the simplest solution, drop the truck off at a shop and give them one job.....
Removing and moving weight might be a less expensive option, which can be done by most shops, but I can’t say it would be a guaranteed fix. I’m not sure how much weight your truck has that could be moved if you wanted to go that route.earnies2 Thanks this. -

Why would otr trucks be different from tri axle dump trucks because mine has a 20,000 lb front end? Just asking.
-
20,000 is overkill on a otr truck & would ride like crap.
