From what I gather, most coops dont care about being over by 100ish LBS. They want to catch guys 1,000+ over. I've been at 12,800 b4 and had to stop at every en-route coop with no tickets. But as I burned off fuel, the weight on my steer went down.

Not with a Pete 389 or 386 with a big sleeper you ain't....
My rig tare with a half tank is 32K....
With my old 379...I was 32K with 300 gallons.......
Thank you Kommifornia for requiring me to have a DPF....
Today's hint for rookies:
When you check the B/L for the Net....make sure that the Net includes the weight of the pallets....
Some shippers will notate separate weights for product and pallets....Some won't....
Some include the total net....
Some will show the Net of the product without considering the pallets.....
Pallets might seem light....But they do add up.....otherhalftw Thanks this. -
240 versus 300.....That's 430 Lbs difference with "full" tanks between the two.....

then don't quote another posters post when directing a comment to another poster....
The only thing missing in this thread is ...."My dad can whip your Dad's but!"
Interpret the rules and regs anyway you want...

You knew what I was referring to when I posted that. You were the only person who mentioned the manufacturer rating didn't matter. Guess what, it does.

Remind me never to ask about steer axle weights in a trucking forum. Or on the CB. Or at a truck stop coffee bar. Or anywhere. Ever.
ew2108 Thanks this. -
I'm going to ask next time I hear a driver gets an over weight
