The OP's post mentioned nothing about a specific speed while crossing a bridge. It was only asking about the speed restrictions while being permitted for weight. It seemed as if he were asking to see how forgiving LEO were with that speed restriction.
Someone else mentioned that when you're permitted for weight, no one knows you're permitted until the check your paperwork or count how many axles you have on the ground.
I haul oversized and it's very easy to tell when I'm permitted (because of the lights, banners, and flags) and since most permits come with the speed restriction it would be way easier to determine if I'm violating/bending a law. So the two (overweight , oversized) are some what the same in regards to the speed restriction. -
Yeah they do, all oversize permits in Ohio are 55 MPH
In Ohio there are DOT and state patrol that are DOT certified and the can write you for speed. But not only that a county of city cop can get you.
In Ohio you can get 160,000 on 8.
I’m aware of this happening but technically they can only void you permit for violation of route, dimensions or weight. I’ve had it voided for other things but they are starting to lose in court.
We’re taking about a permit load in Ohio. -
