Overweight permit on Interstates in Texas.

Is it possible to get an overweight permit for traveling on the Interstate in Texas? We have a destination that requires about 100 miles of Interstate 10 and I am hoping there is an option to do the overweight permit on Interstate roads.

3 This permit does not authorize travel on non-state maintained roadways. It is the permittee's responsibility to obtain any required approvals and permits from local jurisdictions, such as cities and counties, on the roads that they maintain. If your route involves travel on non-state maintained roadways, and you are unable to obtain any required approvals or permits from a local jurisdiction, please contact TxDMV for an amended route.

4 This oversize/overweight permit is issued on the condition that the permittee will comply with all laws and rules relating to the movement of oversize and/or overweight vehicles, equipment and/or loads on Texas roads and highways. Permittee may be cited for violation if any of these laws or rules, as adopted by TxDMV, are not followed.

5 When Gross Weight is stated as "Legal," it is implied that the axle weights are also legal.

6 This permit does not authorize the vehicle to exceed the manufacturer's tire load rating listed in FMCSR 393.75(g).

7 The mover must use extreme caution at all railroad crossings. In case of an emergency, please contact the appropriate

8 Permit is valid for a single trip only.

9 Permittee must adhere to described route.

10 Daylight movement only unless otherwise specified. Overweight only may travel at night.

11 Movement of a permitted vehicle is prohibited when the road surface is hazardous due to rain, ice, sleet, snow, wind, or

highway construction work or when visibility is less than 2/10 of one mile. For more information about Texas highway

12 This permit does not authorize travel on county roads or city streets.

13 Hauling more than one item cannot cause or create an over legal dimension or weight in excess of legal limits.

14 Loads not exceeding 10 feet wide or 14 feet high or 100 feet length with legal front and rear overhang may travel at night on

the Interstate Highway System with no escorts required.

15 All overhang must be included in permitted length. Maximum overhang allowed is 25 feet in front and 30 feet in rear.

16 Any axle grouping of 6 or more must be steerable or articulating.

17 Driving directions listed on the permit for non-state maintained roads are for information only and do not constitute

authorization to travel on such roads. Carrier is responsible for contacting the appropriate county or municipality.

18 Additional jurisdiction notification information has been supplied by TxDOT District Offices located under: "Known

Jurisdictions with restrictions requiring notification prior to movement" at the following website: TXDMV.GOV - Permit Restrictions. This is not a comprehensive list and contact information is subject to change without notice. The carrier is responsible for contacting the appropriate jurisdiction for all non-state maintained travel.

19 Over length loads up to 150 feet long, legal width and legal height, may convoy in groups of four with front and rear escorts. Loads must be spaced at least 1,000 feet, but no more than 2,000 feet, from any other permitted vehicle in the convoy. Each load must have a rotating amber beacon or an amber pulsating light, not less than eight inches in diameter, mounted at the rear top of the load.

20 Over length loads exceeding 150 feet long but not exceeding 180 feet long, legal width and legal height, may convoy in groups of two with front and rear escorts. Loads must be spaced at least 1,000 feet, but no more than 2,000 feet, from any other permitted vehicle in the convoy. Each load must have a rotating amber beacon or an amber pulsating light, not less than eight inches in diameter, mounted at the rear top of the load.

21 May not travel over a load-restricted bridge when exceeding the posted capacity of the bridge.

Has to be a nondivisible load for an overweight permit in Texas.

Up to 84,000 gross. Standard sand can that sees the interstate on occassion. I read that no interstate is allowed with overweight and I figured that it could be possible that interstate permits might exist.
