Once they suspend your license it is suspended everywhere.
The only time I've seen/heard about a driver being taken from his truck at a scale WAS over that ticket he thought someone else was going to pay.
You get to wear shiny bracelets and ride in back as they chauffeur you to the judge...
Then you need to explain the driving while suspended and operating a CMV without CDL on your driver abstract for the next 10 - 15 years... -
Surely you knew you were heavy and your weight was with in question.
I have had two overweight tickets in my career. Both were written out to the company and not me. But each state is different.
If you don't pay it a warrant will be issued for your arrest and you will spend time with Bubba in the pokey! You will pay the fine one way or another. I highly doubt they would chase you down and extradite you over a misdemeanor warrant but you will have to travel through MO again. One stop or inspection there is all it takes.
Missouri law:
Where did you pick up at that you couldn't go around or find a scale before hand? -
I get letters all the time saying the state of whichever vs rodknocker. I'm pretty confident my company already paid it and just trash the junk mail. Never had a problem with any of it. They have the same communication problems as the rest of world.

Call the court and ask if you can have a "trial by declaration." Most jurisdictions have this option - you're not the only one experiencing this dilemma.

If you cant afford to pay the fine than you may want to appear in person and explain your situation to the judge. There is a chance he might show some mercy and reduce the fine. The company I was with one time got one down from $2200 to $300 one time because of an expired overweight permit.. Last thing you want to do is let it go. They wont care about the circumstances right now. Only other option is to maybe get an attorney involved and see if he can make it go away some how.
