50 miles out of route too expensive for that company? So it is one of the ###### if you do ###### if you don't situations. I like how companies like to take on the heavy paying freight, but does not want to take responsibility for it.

In that situation you should have hit the scales if they are 500miles away. You knew it was going to be heavy and you know dock workers don't give a ####. If they fire you for out of route miles or refusing to take the load without scale, you have just cause for an unemployment dispute. Now you have nothing but a ticket and a stain on your driving record. Not kicking you when your down, just stating what the options are so others learn what to do when that situation hits them.

Oh... no... there are not only more trucks than one, there are more than one DOT numbers out of the same or nearby addresses.... that is one reason my one foot is out the door, but not remotely the biggest.

Probably, but I don't understand how... it could be a group of owner operators sharing the same facilities? It seems to be possibly a family operation....

Again, I have a looong list of issues, a number of them I have discussed at length here....

Mr Commuter, let me explain to you how it works:

Once you sign a BOL and leave a shipper, it's yours. Not the company, not the shipper. Until the receiver signs off on a load, legally, it's yours and you are responsible.

If you don't like it, you sure as hell don't leave with it.

That's real helpful.... not... i couldn't supervise the load and didn't know I was overweight until I got to the scalehouse. Since it was not my first pickup for the trip, I didn't even suspect it.

Youre toast. You pulled it. I got one in missouri at first stop over illinoi s border. Couldnt get to scale without crazy re routing. Picked up a sealed pre loaded trailer could not look to see how it was loaded. Literally the last exit was the pickup of a Hersheys load. So I put the tandems where in usually was good on those loads. Only over a few hundred pounds. Guy was a prick. I paid it.

I would have asked my company if they're going to pay my overweight ticket before even leaving the shipper if no answer then I'll wait here untill tomorrow so shipper can rework the load. How much over were you and how much was the fine?
