Everyone remember a thing called, "Muscle Memory"? There is Fat Memory as well... Once you weigh 300lbs, even if you get back down to say 185lbs and than something in life happens, and eating is your soothing medicine, it won't take as long to get up to 300llbs as it did the 1st time. Just a tid bit for those that care... One more,,it is always harder to loose fat than it is to gain it.... Easier to loose muscle than it is to gain it, except for muscle memory. There are hard gainers and easy gainers out there so, my tid bid falls in the middle.

Never knew anyone that took a sleep test and was told they DID NOT need a machine, me included. Since I took the test on my own it doesn't show up anyplace.
The goverment is doing some drivers a big favor. When all of the really fat drivers are eliminated the few that are left will get the best trucks, highest pay and the best jobs. Don't believe me next time your in a truck stop just look around, everybody, including me, is fat. Then there will actually be a driver shortage. The government should be careful what they wish for, they just might get it.Last edited: Jan 12, 2014

You are right.
The sad part is, no sleep test required, I can hear my 7 yr old needs a pap machine. -
You are bang on. It is one of the greatest scams going.
And, even if it were legitimet,
So us fat guys have trouble breathing. Only a political correct society would give that a name and call it a disease. And only in America would a machine be invented rather than addressing the problem and prescribing weight loss. -
A lot of times being put on the machine helps with the weight loss to a extent. Sleep apnea isn't a scam. People stop breathing when they sleep. It's a proven fact. The machine helps prevent that. No different then diabetes or high cholesterol or any other disease. I've been on a cpap for 5 years and I can tell the difference on the days I use it compared to the ones when I don't.
bergy Thanks this. -
Well mattbnr, I like your posts and you obviously have more knowledge on this than I do. I made my post with certainty and I shouldn't have given my limited knowledge. I'll rephrase.
It seems like a scam to me, since 100% of the people I know that were tested have the disease. It's the 100% number than makes me skeptical. I also have never heard of a skinny person with this problem, which is what leads me to think the problem could be solved by the removal of fork from mouth. I find it difficult to breathe sometimes, when doing a lot of bending for example. That's when I get on my own case and tell myself to lose some weight. -
I can confirm that skinny people do in fact have sleep apnea. It just so happens us fat people get it more often and so are more in the lime light so to speak. Anyone can get sleep apnea but more often then not people go Undiagnosed because they think only fat people have it. I wouldn't say I'm knowledgable but having been diagnosed and living it and researching it for the last 5 years I have some experience with it. There are many forums about sleep apnea with very knowledgable individuals on them. They have helped me better understand the problem and how to better combat it.
