Had couple questions for the people with their own authority that they could maybe answer for I would appreciate it.
I'm in the beginnings of getting my own authority I've already got the insurance my DOT number my mc number I've taken my UA I won't be active for about 2 or 3 weeks and actually don't even know if I wanna start using that until around February.

OK this may be a stupid question but I want to ask anyway.
    1. When you write invoice to a customer a broker or direct Carrier whatever you may have, How do you deliver? Meaning do you mail it, email it, fax it?

    2. Also I'm curious on people's experiences with being the owner operator vs haveing your own authority If you transition like that? Pros and cons.
I am excited because when I actually became an owner operator I was under the impression that I would be my own boss. I quickly found out that I just got myself a better job. I like the idea of having my own authority because I feel like it's actually my company. Thanks

Thank you. That's simple enough. I am guessing you send it to the same email you receive your load information from? Sorry I know this is a stupid question I am just trying to figure it out. Little different world

No, most companies have a separate email address (listed on the rate confirmation) for sending INV & BOL. I will usually CC the agent when I send it though.

Also JB Hunt, Coyote will let you generate the invoice from within their app or Web Page upon submitting delivery documents. CH Robinson, Convoy, Uber Freight will not require invoicing, they will automatically process the payment when the delivery documents are submitted. Other than that it is email or Transflo.

You can not drive the truck fast enough, far enough, long enough, to keep up with taxes and break downs.

Example: if you drive the truck 10-14 hours a day, do you feel like doing repairs or taxes after that. So you fall behind and wait to catch up on the weekend maybe. If you don't learn how to fix your truck yourself, every shop will get $150 an hour and won't be able to do anything to it for at least 3-5 days
