I am curious, if shippers are under any obligation to take their load back...generally. If so, I would not hesitate to take it back too. However, I was always under impression that such moves need to be authorized and managed by the broker. I don't mean to say, you should not resolve the problem yourself but the shippers have to agree to take it back, especially if the product was already sold.
I am curious myself...

P.S broker just keep telling me that they are trying to get hold of their customer, it has been two days already and they keep telling the same thing, probably thinking we will wait till 26th. -

I would call the shipper first and explain what happened but I would not assume that they would receive the load back from you just because you expect them to. Hopefully, the distance is not too crazy to go back there in vain. I don't want to sound pessimistic and hope they'll take it back without problems.
Another option, if they don't want to take it back, would be to deposit the load at another warehouse but you'll have to pay for it, if the broker won't but if there is a seal...then it can get a little more complicated, especially if this is done without broker's involvement.
I tell you what...I am guessing that 7 people out of 10 would just sit there until the 26 th.... Tough crap.x1Heavy and Arctic_9999 Thank this. -
Gotcha, well your story and your situation was bad too. I will keep trying to reach shipper tomorrow morning, hopefully they will take it back.TallJoe Thanks this. -

In Reefer food or meat work one of the greatest and most costly problem is burning of time at shippers and recievers. It can and will absolutely destroy any chance of a good income that week without any reduction in expenses. Thats why I prefer to haul pharmacy medicines. You are unloaded in a few minutes and reloaded with cardboard going back to shipper for trans loading into disposal as recycling. They do not waste time in that line of freighting. I don't think I can ever bring myself to take on another food or meat load ever again, its just too much time and money lost in those places. Now if they paid me a good salary equal to minimum wage of 70 hours or better then great, I'll go right back to the time waster and not complain. But it will cost the company alot of money and they would not afford or want to keep paying that kind of salary any length of time.
Its unfortunate that shippers and recievers can just do what they do and the rest of the industry be ###### outside of the gate.Arctic_9999 Thanks this.
