Diesel dave , mercer has quite a few Van's and that division is growing.
Landstar pays leased on drivers once a week, no charge if leased on.
Mercer pays within 2 or 3 hours after receiving paperwork by uploading off our load board, no charge of course.
Mercer on Van's went to a monthly rental but left their percentage for van at 75 percent.
Open deck is a lease to purchase on trailers at 75 percent.

I’m sure they do. I don’t do lease with anyone. It’s all skateboarding for me. I used Mercer and Landstar when they both and other brokers had a lot of military moves. I just hauled for who ever had the better paying loads. I didn’t care for any door slammer loads. Not for me. I know they both had quick pay but I didn’t use it. I turned in my bills and got paid whenever they send the check or funded there card. Thanks for the heads up.

Call up Mercer. No reason to be going broke in the current market. If getting signed up with them is too steep, call Oakley down in Little Rock. No trailer rent charge, but if you go end dump or pneumatic you will have to pay for that specific equipment (wet kit or blower) which they'll take out of your settlements each week. Good folks and they'll run you as hard as you want.
Good luck.Tug Toy Thanks this. -
You could go haul frac sand.

You may have to give the owner operator thing a rest for a while, go back to being company, stack your money up, then buy a truck from a reputable dealer. Some folks will advise getting your own authority, but if you have a truck in which you didn't lease through the company, then you can move around to a different outfit. I've heard some guys get anywhere from 65 - 75 percent of the line using the company trailer, I'd say the average is maybe in the low 70s. Most of all I'm emphasizing getting that capital up first...
Tug Toy Thanks this. -
