    Best work for a company for a while to get familiar operations and cost. Just jumping in increases your chances of failure.

    I plan on working for a company for a while before becoming an o/o. O/o is just my goal. I'm just hoping i will be able to do it locally. I plan on owning both my truck and trailer and get onto a percentage program with a company. But for now i am going to try and get on with averitt express. Heard it was a tough company to get on with but worth a shot.

    I don't know what it's like in Florida for work, but where I'm at in Colorado, the main "home daily" work is end-dump/aggregate. When my dad was hauling gravel, his hours were such that he was only home long enough to sleep. I am doing regional tanker work and am gone anywhere from overnight to five nights. This gig is the best happy-medium between pay and home-time.
