I cannot remember the name of one of our posters on here (yeah, I'm getting older) but if I recall correctly, he was a L/O for swift, and as he was leasing, he was also banking as much money as possible for the balloon pmt at the end of the lease. In the end, he walked away with the truck. IT CAN BE DONE! He's proof. But you have to be really smart about it.
For some people, leasing is just much easier and they don't have to deal with all the red tape. That's what the company does.
I think that its a matter of personal preference and know how. Just my .02.otherhalftw, blsqueak, scottied67 and 2 others Thank this. -
scottied67 Thanks this.

SHEEEESSSS........c'mon, this is trucking at it's best!!!!!!!!fr8monkey, scottied67 and bullhaulerswife Thank this. -
also, as a leasee, every dime you spend on the road and on that truck is tax deductible
what you cannot do is believe the mega company, but if you really read that lease, you will be surprised how many goodies are in there that are in your favor
they dont want you to read it, but they have been sued enough where they were forced to put certain outs for you as a leasee and not an employeeotherhalftw and bullhaulerswife Thank this. -

Steve and FR8, you should know by now, mention Swift and Lease, and they come out of the woodwork. As far as the lease, it works for those that know what they are doing. I ran into a husband and wife team the beginning of the year, and they just received their 3rd truck and they have been here for 12 years. It is what you want it to be. I know that at the end of mine, I will turn in for a new one. It is what works for me, and I am DARN happy with it.
BHW, I also know of one, and he was a mentor. He took what he had in his maintenance account plus the penalty for miles deductions and had plenty. Also at the end of the end of the lease, IEL will help a person find financing for the balloon payment.otherhalftw, bullhaulerswife and fr8monkey Thank this. -
Maybe I'm wrong, but didnt Scottie just buy his leased truck recently?
bullhaulerswife Thanks this. -
