Your correct.
Makes sense to me unless an hour or 2 before you get there you break down. You can call the broker, receiver, shipper and let them know your not going to make it. No need for a crane to wait given they've had a notice. I'm not very smart i guess but just makes sense to me. If I know someone's not going to make it I'm not going set up shop and wait for someone I know isn't going to be there.

Right... like they don't have a schedule to keep themselves, yeah ok, just whenever you can get it here driver..
-
That's why you call so they can go about other things and thier not sitting there waiting for you!!!!!!!!! And yeah I guess you will get here when you can get here driver.
-
I'd like to add I do understand having an appointment and being on time when the receiver has made special arrangements to unload the product. I understand if it happens and you can't give enough notice it's your butt. No where in the original post did he say anything about a crane and a crew waiting.
-
Yeah they can just put the whole job on hold. You contract to provide a service. If the truck breaks you just have to deal with it and do what you got to do. If they're ok with it cool, if not good luck..

You like to be argumentative. We can say smart ##### comments and argue over different scenarios all day. You win!

You're the one saying it should be no big deal with plenty of notice. In a perfect world, yeah, this is trucking.. You're right I won!!

Big man behind the key board. -
If i you break down theres very little you can do as a 1 truck o/o or even a small fleet. If theres a crane so be it everybody involved will have to work it out. I have waited plenty of hours for a crane thats bin late due to issues. It happens to the best. In the real world issues come up and you just have to deal with them and work it out.

1 truck or 50 trucks you have to cover the load and satisfy the customer, 1 reason it is emphasied to have some $ before starting out as an O/O.
chalupa Thanks this.
