Owner Operator Flatbedding in Florida

    I run right around %30 deadhead every year. I will occasionally run something cheap but only if the timing makes since. I’m not going to be a day late to good paying freight because of some BS load.

    By the way, my experience is that cheap stuff is always where the problems come from too…… wait times, waiting on paperwork, tarps, running back n forth to the scale, getting overloaded, stuck in a mud hole, forklift running into my trailers, so on and so forth….

    I second @Tug Toy.

    I'm right around 50/50 loaded vs empty.

    Every mile from my driveway, to my driveway counts. Loaded or empty dont really mean anything to me.

    I’m at around 12% dh this year.
    The problem with running long dh’s for the well paying freight is what you get left with if the good paying load cancels…

    Anyways in Florida Is tough as far as spot market goes, but there’s to be a way to sustain yourself there, there’s plenty of Florida based trucking companies, they do it somehow.
