Owner operator going to LinkAmerica, any thoughts?

    You might want to check again. Landstar is the parent company of Ranger, Ligon, Inway, Gemini, and Express America. Traded under LSTR on the open market.

    United and Mayflower are owned by the same company.

    called UNIGROUPINC...

    they have controlling interest in landstar

    unigroup played their stock a few years ago - and pumped a lot of money into them...

    in return landstar trucks are covering bookings for tradeshows now.

    Living in FL the company that has your inbound and outbound freight is going to be important.


    Even tho Landstar is based out of JAX they do not have a lock on FL freight like you might think they should.

    no link - but I know several united boys... I am on the cell phone now with one who gave me the skinny on the whole LS deal...

    Just talked with debbie at Inway - she says as far as she knows LS had some investments a few years ago with unigroup - but was not sure of the link between them...


    I will see if I cant get something more concrete for your eyes...

    nahhh - my buddy at United is a great source of info - and it was on memory of an old conversation that I posted....


    come to find out he figures he had repeated bad info to me a few years back...

    no biggie -


    I saw one of their trucks (back to link america) this morning coming in from Philly... they must run way up the coast (thought the stuck down south)

    anyone? know the lanes they keep to?
