O.K. folks, just testing the waters. So I have no experience as a driver. I understand I need to learn the ropes and experience, but I really would like to know if I could lease onto a company without experience. Basically I want to purchase a truck cash, around 40,000 and start as an owner operator. Before I get bashed about needing experience and all that stuff, is it feasible. If not, why not. My goal or plan has a plan A,B and C:
    1) Become an owner Operator
    2) Within 3 years work under my own Authority
    3) If I can not accomplish that Goal I will either remain an Owner Operator leased onto a carrier or work for Walmart as a company driver.

Although I have no experience I have done quite of bit of research on the ins and outs of the business and have some knowledge as to what is needed, and I don't have to tell you its a lot of stuff. I have two years before I retire from my current job and take the leap. I have run numbers for operational cost, Gross and Net profits margins and good ole Uncle Sam. I am confident I can manage that end of the business. Hopefully Future CEO of T.T.S. LLC

And, Walmart is dumping their company drivers and outsourcing to the lowest bidder.

It's so easy a caveman can do it! Just buy a truck and you will be ready to go. Also, you might want to buy a money counting machine to count all the money coming in.

I love it.... All these guys think it's soooo easy. Op you need to learn the business first. Yes you can do all the research you like but with no real world experience you will fail. At least 99% do and the 1% that doesn't has family and friends to hold their hand.

I don't get why it's so hard to just work for a company for a few years and then go your own way after gaining the knowledge you need

I don't understand why people can't stay company drivers, not deal with the other 80% of the bs and end up with less stress and more real money in the end.

Because not everyone wants to work for someone else. They would much rather be responsible for their own success or failure.

Great, you have numbers. How about an actual business plan.
