I dress to be comfortable and be somewhat professional . Boots and a nice pair of jeans, button up shirt, belt is optional here, ball cap or my favorite stetson. Other than that I like to be neat in my seat and cool on my stool.Outlaw maybe every now an then. Loose leaf logs make it easy to fudge alittle.

Dave- I'm in my late 40s. First drove a truck with my dad illegal as a teenager if that answers it. How is wearing a pair of shorts meant to be unprofessional. I am polite to folks and don't go around smelling like a goat. If I get all sweaty and nasty, I change my clothes and shower. I've even took a hore bath in a rest room with a wash clothe !!! I don't get all the angry posts on this. To each his on but I am not a renagade harley rider type who beats on his chest about bein' cool. Is this thread all the cool guys?

I believe the angry post are cause of what you said. What YOU call an Outlaw trucker is something that is still happening out there for few that are still struggling in these times. It's something that is not done intentional it's only done to get by. We know the consequences if caught but willing to accept it. I don't know if you been there yet, but knock on wood, some day you will look back and understand why it's done.:biggrin_25511: By the way, Im an Owner Operator, maybe that will make sense why I do it.

Regulations don't make anyone safe. That's like saying "gun laws keep people from killing each other"

They just give the government, whether state, local or federal a means to say they are doing something to protect the citizens...And collect a pretty heavy cash flow.

Think about this. Lets say Texas has 100 DOT officers on patrol at all times. And each of those officers write at least 4 tickets that average about $150 each. And they do this 7 days a week....

    $60,000 a day.
    $420,000 a week.
    $21,900,000 a year.

Oh yeah, regulations are all about safety...
