What company is that? I'm looking for a company that will not be watching every where I go every minute of my life and that is not planning on using electronic logs so soon. And that has APU in their trucks... any info is well appreciated.

now a jake break is a usefull tool and true it was desined to assit going down a steep grade and they work real good to if you know how to usethem, but that dosent mean you cant use them any other time , you nrew giys whine about there use well oi got a question for you experts. when was the last time you had to put breaks on a trailer or a tractor for that matter it is not cheap, what does it cost to use that jake break sure it makes a little noise that just lets you no it's working and if a noise like that scares you little boys then you don't need to be out here playin with the big boys anyway go buy you a bag of marbels that should keep you busy and they don't make a lot of noise so you wont have to be scart.

it is cheapere to use the jake then relace the breaks o and i no you new that right. southernpride

I knew a man who had his own and had guys running under him and he was pulling lots of loads and doing repairs for those under him at his shop and he looked like he was playin the big wheel. He was livin' great and seemed to have it all till he got caught with a pump sneakin into people's saddles at the plaza. Now he's done as a fuel thief. I hear all sorts of stories but I know some make good if they have the good loads. That fancy 379 aint so impresive now!

Southernpride- Where you get all that cash? Do you report it to the IRS? How so you right off your labor charge if you pay cash. DO you pay medicare and Social? If not, when the auditor comes to your place, you might as well pack a toothbrush and being a trucker, don't expect to be sent to some countryclub Class 1 lockup because you'll get hard time violent or not!

Blackw900 seems straight up. Some hear don't!!

grimes- I apoligised for those statements but thanks for your web policeing

I'm not posting this to inflame or goes against the grain with you SP. More a rant than anything. But I believe I met one of these Outlaws this week. Without going into the whole details of the matter. Everything he told me and what I have researched on them. He appears to be running one truck without authority and insurance. OR is using the false pretenses of someone else's authority. He doesn't need a brokers license because he is operating under a brokers house. He is looking to put someone in the seat and run for him. I would have to say most likely, illegally to boot. He never did produce a good authority and insurance. All his information is ten+ years old and from another state. Says he has been a O/O for 43 years and the most odd line he kept saying, Follow me along here ? or Do you see where I'm going with this ?

I could be wrong about all of this but if I was a gambler and followed along. I would be in a truck right now pulling a load of produce, most likely illegally. I have no problems working or driving for a O/O. But I refuse with the regulations they have in place today, to run without authority and insurance. Pure suicide for the driver.

If that driver supposedly got into a accident and possibly killed someone. The driver will be jailed and this person that hired him will vanish. Probably never to be heard from again.

Now I agree with you for the most part about so many regulations that affect this industry. But it should still not lead to this type of moving freight.
