I don't know. Could the 10-13% be taxes.
Payroll taxes, workers compensation or something?

Have you thought about asking him why the numbers don't match? I mean in a reasonable, "I don't understand this" non-confrontational way?

You know, a conversation. Like reasonable folks have with each other.

This could be the difference in the numbers the o/p see's, and as such, is not entitled to any of it, Until he man's up and asks the o/o, what would WE really know??

He's very quick to say that
, and yet HE IS GETTING PAID WHAT HE AGREED TO.

sounds like a typical steering wheel holder that everything is his. I pity the day he get's his own truck.

Who cares about what your wife does. YOU'RE the one here complaining about an o/o also being a broker and only paying you the amount YOU agreed to and YOU NOT knowing what any extra monies he collects goes towards.

Just drive your dam truck and be done with it, or here's a novel idea...QUIT..>!!

You agreed to 25%. 25% of what? 25% of gross less the broker fees? 25% of the overall gross?

It sounds like you're doing a bunch of short hauls so there could be a fuel surcharge built into his contract that would be a small amount on a $100 load. I'd prob ask your boss instead of an Internet forum.

BECAUSE HE PAYS YOU AFTER HIS CUT, and unfortunately, he's being too transparent with you. You now see all his business. What he should be doing is, redoing that document, and paying you 25% AFTER his cut. He is an O/O who works with a broker, who hired you.

SO, the O/O is the middle guy. If the broker gets paid, and you get paid, then who pays him....he pays him. He's got expenses...and well...his extra little monies cover that.

Many people like you automatically think that others are out to get you or steal from you. All the while not knowing the actual facts or costs involved. My old boss was that way too and has been in jail for the last 3 months for of all things 5 counts of felony theft that I know of. There may be more.

Like was already said, have a candid, non confrontational talk with the boss. This will clear a lot of things up. If you still do not like it then move on. No reason to get upset about it, there are other trucks out there.
