It is difficult to get drivers to change their way of thinking from miles to percentage. Even though you can show them in black and white how they can make more on percentage rather than running for mileage. Some just can't get away from the miles thinking.

Percentage worked for me. I remember one week $5,546 and some change. I brought home $3,900+ after fuel. Sometimes we would get 2 different loads on the same trailer and charge for 2 separate loads. Sometimes we would charge the customer for the out of route miles as if we were 500 miles away and we would be in the same town. Lots of big weeks like that. Big money in the percentage world.

You've just never experienced the right company. There are large and small companies out there where everything is above table. Not the norm of course, but they do exist.

I was leased to a carrier that would put partials on with loads that were booked "exclusive use only" Perhaps he did the deadhead thing as well, if so he never passed that on, but ya get what ya get when dealing with shady people. I didn't stay there very long. I figured one day it would bite him in the rear and perhaps me as well.

When discussing his companies unethical behavior with the owner of a company (while he was drinking my booze at a hospitality party of was hosting). Told me I had better get used to it because people do that to him all day long.

Just thought that there is something to karma and that he is doing business with people with the same unethical business practices as him. Sad part is most of the people who work for him are good people and fall all over themselves for what happened.

LMAO!!! Making sure I understand it. His post sounded like he was bragging about doing it, but at your gathering he was complaining about it when it would happen to him? LOL

If you want others to be ethical and above board then you need to make sure that you conduct yourself in an ethical and honest manner.
