Friend got his tracked when he had an accident with severe injuries. Even though the car rear ended him at high speed, he was liable because of the phone and the logbook.

Same thinking of people who think they can't be tracked online. I know people that can find you in about 5 minutes.

Good. Next time, I will call you instead of the attorney. You will be much cheaper and more knowledgeable.

Have any of you ever heard of Comparitive Negligence? That is the way TN law is set up (Several other states have adopted it as well). Even though the accident clearly appears to be one persons fault, if the other person did anything that contributed to that accident, he can also be charged with the accident when it goes to court so I would not doubt that at all.

We as O/O don't have a strong enough voice. OOIDA is doing its best but it's not doing enough. This BS proposed Sleep Apnea testing is a prime example.
The problem you have in this country is lobbying, but the big boys have the opportunity to peddle their ideas to their favorite politician. It's a matter of greasing enough palms to get their way.,
Lobbying should be made illegal, like it is in many countries. But it's massive business here.
    its corruption at its worst.
That's how many of these BS laws get passed. Just follow the money. It has nothing to do with safety.
The ATA are the biggest culprits. They hate us, the O/O. Big business are the ones that mandate the elogs and of course the proposed speed limiters that are coming down the pike. They want a level playing field if you can call it that. Sorry to say but the Good old USA is a virtual Fascist State, even if you think Obama is a socialist. If you don't understand that then look it up. It's the way it is. It's only going to get worse. Corporations have waaaay too much power. The politicians are in their pockets.
Whether we get wiped out totally will, always be up for discussion. Just keep on trucking.

Im sure they can. Im just going by what my brother in law told me. He is a cop. Said they do it by pinging the towers and it has to be a smartphone. Dont know, not overly worried about it either.
