I was loading some crane counterweights the other day, and a pair from BC were there to load the crane. It blew my mind how unprepared and unknowledgable they appeared. I asked the next day about them the next day when I delivered The crane company finally had to call someone else to load it up the next day. Those guys were probably pullin vans till that week
Still doing great hauling ice cream. My other hauls are shorter distances to keep rate higher. Make a lot more calls than ever… but we are still doing good.
It’s sad when the shipper is happy you can speak English and are actually using chains to secure an excavator etc. It’s gotten pure stupid out here.
One could make it, sure. But why run your assets into the ground for peanuts when a company job is more profitable or a side business can expand in the interim?
Exactly what really pisses me off is when they back in next ya and come over and try to talk to ya while you trying to load your wagon asking 50 questions because they don’t have a clue about how things go. And the whole time you know their the reason the rate got cut .80 per mile.
More in Detroit Stellantis to lay off thousands at Jeep plants, blames California emissions regulations
It’s just as bad with what I in some of these guys been pulling a van or reefer.. they show up don’t know nothing except how to cut the rate
