If you're sitting idle with no other income stream I would agree. Burning up your savings is a poor decision. However, repairs and improvements certainly do increase the value of an asset. You seriously think spending 25k on an overhaul doesn't increase the value of a 94 W9?

Any truck is worth significantly more when it moves under it's own power versus a broken down 20k lawn ornament parts truck.

It costs me about 250/month to let mine sit. I'll wait until the next boom and sell it along with my authority and both trailers. I think drivers just get trained to not be able to sit still from years of gypsy living. This mentality permeates all aspects of our lives. Your panicking over a broken down truck sitting for a little while seems indicative of that as well.

I get it. I did my first Truck. Took all day. It looked great. That was in 1997. First and Last time!! Lol. I still have all the stuff. Probably do my current Truck right before the For Sale sign goes up. I’m too cheap to pay. I’ve got all kinds of lights, mud flaps, SS weights, Hub Caps, all that cutsie stuff that causes more aggravation than it’s worth. Should all look pretty nice to the next Owner. Hopefully all that bling will seal the deal. Lol. If I do keep it, maybe I’ll paint the Tanks and front fenders to match. Done right, it’s looks good. Maybe leave the ends to polish. Add some 3/4 rear fenders. Put all that sound deadener I bought in it, do the hardwood floor. Yeah Man!! Who cares if you’re making money, as long as you’re looking good. Lol. Never did get everything done that I planned. Always fixing something. Lots of ideas. Never enough time to do it all. Would be nice to get it all fixed up, just for the sense of accomplishment. Maybe I can sell it for a more money. I hear Trucks are appreciating in price these days.Lol. I like your Truck. It’s rare with the Detroit, and the big Sleeper. It’s hard to put a price on one after you’ve had it for such a long time. Almost priceless.

Great investment. You should buy 10 more old Trucks. Only cost $2500 per mo. to store them. Make a killing when the next boom hits.

Warren Buffets quietly buying up old KWs. Paying a premium price for ones that have already been overhauled.

Thanks for the tip, High Roller. Maybe if you were making any real money you wouldn't have to worry so much about sitting and you'd have the cash to fix your pos Freightshaker.

You've been here for a couple of days, maybe you should be less aggressive.
Are you really run your own numbers and if yes, for how long?

Careful, he has all the answers apparently.

He says 25 years but it doesn't sound like he's learned much.
