I don't mind the fact! Just would have been nice to know that. I'm sure if was in the fine print somewheres so no worries, just wouldnt have taken the time to go through the app process knowing that up front. Just putting it out there for future readers!

Thats not always true! I could go to alot of different companies and lease w/o a credit check, but I don't like alot of normal leases out there! Again, it was just info for the next reader that comes along, not a big deal.

Yeah I agree Pork Chop. A company does lease purchase to drivers because they can't get financed for a truck somewhere else or most of them do anyway. If a company like Sammons wants guys with good credit then why would they need to buy a truck threw them when they can deal with a dealer or individual. :biggrin_25513:

Big John, yeah, I've been doing some research on ALOT of companies the last couple weeks. I'm trying to use this board and members to atest to actually rates, miles and views just in general. I was really interested in sammoms b/c of the way they run, its exactly what I'm used to!! I would like to stay on stepdecks but with the back issues I have, I've been considering a dry van, but trying to find a lease hauling a van that is acutally set up to succeed is next to none, OR you end up paying 30k-40k more for the elase truck. Just trying to find the right deal for me personally!!

Sammons takes a look at the whole person. Work history, MVR, PSP, Accidents, Credit and other factors. If all are good but one we can work through it.

May I inquire about the "other factors"? Or do I even want to know?

Other would be attitude, the home time wanted, expectations financial and miles, equipment owned, criminal records, references (referred by a current contractor), and just how the recruiters feel about the person after talking to them. It's not a science but we try and make sure we are the right company for people wanting to sign on as much as that they are right for us.
