Yes, the office people do this to make the company look better.
They recruit about 25 new drivers a week. I was there 2 and a half years and when I left they had the same number of drivers that they had when I started. So drivers quit at an alarming rate.
You might see 10 good reviews. They have 800 trucks in the fleet and have for 25 years. That's less than 1 tenth of one percent of their current fleet who posted a good review for the company. And that's not taking into consideration the fake reviews posted by the office staff to make the company look better online. Just think about that.

And its not Ozarks, it's Ozark.

I worked for them twice in the last few years. My all time favorite company. Ran steady nights. Always on FedEx. It was easy. Lots of paper rolls too. Maintenance is top notch. Management is real open door. Talked to the owner and his sons many times. Plus every other higher up. APU’s on all trucks that they keep running at any cost. I stayed out 2-3 weeks. Always got me home on time living in SW Pennsylvania, below Pittsburgh.
Only downside is driver facing cameras. And of course the lane departure crap.Maverick Griff and xlsdraw Thank this. -
Reviews are accurate. They have a lot of long time drivers. The turnover is normal.
Maverick Griff Thanks this. -
Ok thanks,
Have too make a decision between Ozark & Leonard's Express. -
I think either would be good. Probably more miles at Leonards. @xlsdraw work's there. He is a good dude and won’t BS you on the company. He worked for owner op and now is company so he’s seen both sides.
Maverick Griff and xlsdraw Thank this. -
I saved pics of my Ozark truck. I liked them that much. Only reason I left was I couldn’t stand being away from my newborn son.

I understand.
Nice pic. I have read some of his posts about Leonard's good info he's getting really good miles there. -
Management is open door to bunch of idiots. They would constantly send me loads I couldn't make the pickup times for or delivery times for. I"d call them and ask "why the hell did you send me this, you know I can't make this" and I'd get that southern drawl "Oh, I don't know how that happened."
I do, because you're a bunch of idiots.
When I called them and told them I had not slept in 24 hours and had to shut the truck down until 5am the next morning and the fleet manager called me and said "You knew what to expect when you started working here" and told me to drive the truck tired no matter what, I realized just what kind of an operation that hunk of crap was.
Screw those people. Telling me to drive a truck fatigued, yet try to claim safety is top priority.
Getting you home on time? Good luck. One time they missed getting me home on time 3 out of 5 times in a row. I sat on the yard one time for 2 days PAST MY REQUESTED HOME TIME and finally called the top management and said if you don't get me an effing load back to my house before 10 am you will get the truck back with the keys on the seat. At 930 am they finally got me a load.
Screw Ozark. I laugh when I pass their slow ### trucks. Speaking of, during orientation they told us in 3-6 months we'll give you a new truck. After a year, my original old truck finally broke at a Loves and they brought me another old truck. That iold truck spent every other day in the shop. After almost 2 years I had to threaten to quit (calling Enterprise rent a car right in front of the shop manager) for them to FINALLY give me the new truck I was promised 2 years prior. Again, SCREW OZARK.
I would go with Leonards. I dont care how bad they are, they can't be as dumb as the doorknobs at Ozark. The "good reviews" at Ozark are either fake from the office personnel or from stupid drivers too scared to venture out and work for someone else.
I too thought Ozark was pretty good until I quit and worked somewhere else and was hitting 3300 miles a week, week after week. At Ozark my best year was 42000 dollars. Where I work now, I just made over 62000 bucks. Ozark does NOT pay detention. Sit for 6 hours to get loaded? Too #### bad. Break down and need a hotel? No breakdown pay. Too #### bad.
Yea, screw Ozark.Last edited: Mar 12, 2022
