In a nut shell, the State was going to confiscate the money from tolling Rt. 80. The Feds shut that down but state never rescinded the annual payments due from the PTC. The last I read, there will be yearly toll increases through the year 2044.
On another bright note, the fairly recent .30 per gallon tax on gas & .39 on diesel was supposed to go to road projects and maintenance, has been diverted to the state police to shore up their underfunded pension fund. One scumbag (uh I mean official) was quoted "New projects? We'll be lucky to keep up with maintenance.
Now stop getting me so wound up, I have to get to sleep soon.

And the PUC can suck a big one too. Pretty much the general consensus. Half the sand haulers we worked with didn't have a puc # including us

I just used the PA. tpk toll calculator. Class 7 up to 80,000 lbs. 5 axles
    Rt. 80 to 276 - $ 56.30. W/ez pass ONLY $ 40.30
    After 1-05-2020- $ 59.70 W/ez pass Only $42.80
    From Ohio to Jersey $ 317.40 W/ez pass $217.30
    After 1-05-2020 $ 333.60 W/ez pass $229
EZ Pass is what you"ll be able to do with even the largest of turds after the Pa TURNPIKE commission gets done reaming ya.

Its already happened. The pa state police pension was short. They raided the fuel tax fund to get it refunded. Don't know if it was before or after that the gas and diesel tax was raised. Most of you probably know..diesel fuel tax is close to .75 cents a gallon. I live in nortwest pa and our county, and a few others, would have lost more population if not for the amish. My property taxes were around 1,100 a year in 1986 when we built our house..now around 3,000 a year. Never ending cycle.

I got that..if its one thing i despise, its these money sucking turnpikes. They could not run a streamlined business if it smacked them. Waste waste waste.
