I'm looking for a Pacaar MX13 engine to go into a 2016 Kenworth T680 truck.

Is there anywhere to find out what years would be compatible with a 2016 t680?

    I found a 2019, but we don't think it's compatible.

As a rule you need like for like I.E EPA 10, EPA 13 EPA 17 ect. For a 2016 your going to have a EPA 13 edition of the MX13 motor most likely. That means as a general rule any EPA 13 motor will be compatible though may need a software update via the ECM and/or a diffrent wireing harness if it came out of a diffrent make then your own. I.E a pete 579 vs a T680. Additionally you can find if its compatable by getting an engines serial number and taking it to a dealer to cross refrence.

Best bet is to confirm which emission standard your truck uses. There is a chance its a late model 16 using an EPA 17 emissions standards template motor. Once you have that confirmed simply find a motor that fits to that. There may be some diffrences beyond that for a kenworth but this is the info my pete dealer gave me when i was pricing a like for like swap before my emissions went full mushroom cloud on me.

Also for clarity the emissions standard means that for example a 2013 to 2016 motor will be compatible as well as some 12s and 17s. Hence why i said to look at the EPA model. For exact info however take your vin and engine serial number to kenworth and ask them.

We installed 2017 truck dd15 engine epa 2016 into my 2016 Cascadia epa 2014. Used original ecu, turbo, wiring, and exhaust headers?, don't know if saying it correctly. Different part numbers, per dealer it wouldn not work. Working like a charm, put about 150k on new engine already. Most likely is same for paccar, it's too expensive for truck manufacturers to significantly change stuff every year..
