2021 Peterbilt 567 has the "smart air" system. I need to vacuum then recharge, but both lines have the large manifold connectors. (see attached pictures) As mentioned in a few prior threads I found, dealer has no clue. Only info I could get was the 134 capacity. So how do I vacuum this system? Just pull vac on the low side using the high side connector? Or?...
This place in Columbus Ohio is great with apus. We have a comfort pro and we were having issues and this old guy was great. ELW Columbus ohion
I'm glad I'm not the only that noticed this issue. Now to add to this, the manual (which really sucks) says not to add oil, as well as the sticker on the unit itself. Now I'm finding out that the oil that is needed is a PEV oil and that the two cannot be mixed. BUT, nowhere can I find out how much oil to use. I only have one AC recovery machine here and it has always had PAG oil. So it looks like I need a separate machine to do these smartair systems. Am I correct in all of this?
I don't know about the oil. It says not to add any, so I did not. On the recovery system, do you have the ability to pump refrigerant into the system? The pressure of the canister, 30lb or 12oz can no matter, it will not fill the system. You have to pump the 134a into it. If you look at the system it will say "Bergstrom Inc" I called them and they answered the phone. Ya,...no kidding right. They answered my questions very promptly and professionally. Give them a call, hopefully you will have the same great luck as I did.
