My last filter would look like that and I’d run it to 20k without any issues. I don’t have that filter on my new truck, just the ones on the engine.
For some reason i always thought you had a fleet. But fair enough, wonder why mine has so many issues with clogged filters then. Ive already replaced, cleaned or repaired everything from the tank to the injectors. Ill just chock it up to more of my truck being garbage.
Does your truck run like the filters are plugged? The first time I saw mine black like that I panicked, but then I watched my fuel pressure gauge and it didn’t change and the truck kept running fine. One guy mentioned to me that it’s from the bio diesel.
Oh yes, fuel pressure drops like a rock shortly after turning black every single time. Already had tanks scrubbed, lines replaced, filter houseings replaced, and injectors cleaned. Happens every single time i get bio diesel. Filters are usually shot within 1000 miles.
No problems with mine in 500 K miles, except for a couple of wiring snafus, and normal maintenance. I’m not fond of the filters, either, they seem to gel quite easily, and they wouldn’t put a Davco on the new one I ordered.
Have you ever tried hot shots secret every day treatment? If you run the cleaner through first and then that I bet you will not have that horrid filter anymore.
I did have a few rigs and drivers like over 10 years ago Just got tired of dealing with guys 2000 miles away And I don’t seem to keep trucks very long so maybe that’s why you were thinking I was a fleet I finally got a big bunk and thought this would be my truck for several years but am already “looking” at going bigger than the 120” I have now My problem is. Once I even start looking then it eventually ends up in my yard
My turbo blew on a paccar engine in Memphis. Was a 2012 t660 with 500,xxx miles. By the grace of good it happened less then a mile from the dealer. We were stranded for over 4 days waiting for the turbo. Job total cost 10k. I wouldn’t even consider a paccar engine. AVOID.
