If not one of those auto shifters they call automatics you gotta mess with it to get them to skip a gear otherwise your stuck being the brains of the truck and that is your duty to figure out, then its just timing and a very good ear.

    Your question is part whine.

What is left is that you generally have to shift in the region of 1500 RPM which is more or less close to or at the high horsepower curve on a given engine's power chart that starts down at torque.

There are two kinds of shifting. Progressive is the better of the two in terms of walking that truck away from everyone else and conserving fuel. If you want straight shifting winding out every gear then go do it. But your mileage will drop.

If you have a full automatic truck, it will shift when it feels like it when it wants to. You could use the manual mode if there is one, but it is not good for constant shifting. What do you care what the auto does on your truck.

As far as the other poster is concerned, he is describing a situation in which you are the brains that determine how to shift a manual 13 speed or some such transmission non auto in your truck.

There are no shortcuts in this industry. If you allow shifting to bother you and make you upset etc. I suggest taking some time off and decompress until you are ready to get back at it.

I know what progressive shift is. On this paccar it will not let you rev over 1500 which would be fine it the truck wasnt neutered so bad that it almost stalls in the bottom gears because of it. It needs to go beyond 1500 or be juiced up more or something. This forum gets laughable with all the retard truck drivers that get on here and talk like they are gods gift to trucking. I been doing it all my life but dont pull that #### with people. I know i cud just have a parameter change if it hadnt been deleted. Just asking if there might be a trick to unplug a sensor or something to do it. Dont need your talk down to me BS. Go WHINE on that. Bottom feeder. Gotta talk like something youre not to feel like something youll never be, like the majority of dumb ##### on here. I guess talking like a genius steering wheel holder makes alot of folks feel high and mighty. STUPID

Yea mine when u stomp the gas u can count about 7-8 seconds before she spools completely up. So if starting on an incline it will struggle to get to the high side but i have 3.25 rears. Its enuf to piss me off. Once in high side 1500 is fine
