That delete has things messed up paccar is a fast spooling engine like a Cummins since they pretty much run the same turbo
He just asked a simple ? I dont have the answer. But if you run heavy on very steep hills, it is nice to hit a little higher rpm so one can catch the next gear . Don't need all the super trucker talk.
Yes is can be programmed out and let rev to 2100 in all gears. Just need to swing by a dealer or someone that has the Davie program. No easy trick to get rid of it. Being deleted is a bit harder. Might have to get it reprogrammed then deleted again after. Some delete guys will redelete for free, some want to get paid again.
Yea thats what i keep getting is repaying every time. Dealer womt touch it cos of delete and i cant keep paying these fools. Wish i had left it stock
I have been driving a MX-13 set at 510/1850 with 3.73 rears and 13-speed, pulling a set of B-trains loaded to 137,800 lbs gross. Shifting 1500-1600 rpm, drops to 1100-1200. Either you are trying to skip gears, or there is something wrong with the motor. 1500-1600 is the shift point for this motor. You are supposed to shift as the horsepower begins to peak, so it drops back into the max torque range to begin pulling in the new gear. Ponies aren't what gets the truck up a hill.
Im aware of that but the throttle response time is so pathetic on mine it acts like its struggling in low side til it gets up to at leadt about 1300
That big jump from low to high range is what's hurting you. The delete isn't helping you on driveability, it seems, either. I drove an older truck with a 13 and programmed only in the lower range, it wasn't good, either. 18 speeds work better with it because you can skip the big jump from low to high range. You're kind of between a rock and a hard place with what you have now.
Most likely progressively getting worse. Start with a complete engine management sensor and EGR cleaning. From there if the low power still exists your likely going to have to put a set of injectors in it to get the power back. Overhead set last? I'm guessing this is an EPA 10. How many miles/hrs? This engine will start pulling around 1100 r's. Yours is broken. Course all bets are off in your current situation anyhow. My2cents Good luck
Gross weight, gear ratios and hp/torque settings? They don't pull all that well up a hill in the 1100-1200 range when fully loaded. 1300-1400 is usually where all the power comes out from my experience. Are you going through all the gears? 1-2-3-4-5-5H-6-6H-7-7H-8-8H? They also don't like full gear shifts in high range when heavy. They are very temperamental POS's. At least you aren't dealing with the emissions garbage.
In low range , yes, i dont skip gears. And it was like that when i bought it with 400.000 miles. Delete n tuned it would run with a 500 isx with 13 speed, no problem. Nothing is wrong but paccars pathetic stock setup.
