Truck will not Regen if you have an engine fault code.
Know the complete history of the truck?
I would start by having the dpf filter changed out.
A dealer trip to an expert would beat alot of down time.
Sometimes it's cheaper to pay the dealer and get back on the road.

They way the Active regeneration works. Their is a diesel fuel injector behind the turbo in the exhaust pipe. So while driving it will inject diesel into the exhaust that will go thru the pipe and hit the HOT DPF. The diesel will burn and incinerate the soot in the DPF. That takes about 30 minutes of none stop driving.
If you don't drive that long the only option is a parked regen that has to be done manually when you get the dash light. Thats assuming everything is working right -
It actually called the Doser the one that inject diesel into the exhaust pipe from my understanding. Then their is another injector you hear people talk about. That very close to DPF and that is used for the parked regeneration it will open and injector diesel onto the DPF so I can get HOT to burn off the soot. The DPF needs to reach like 900F to 1,000F to work. That why you need to be driving so hot engine exhaust can help heat thing up or your forced to do a Parked Regen.
