Thanks for the list! I start school on the 29th of this month, and I am getting stuff lil by lil now, not such a big expense in the end.

This list is pretty good BUT you forget that if it can't fit into 1 good sized duffel bag for training you are carrying too much! I posted a list that will fit into a duffel at #168 everyone should check out.
You need to remember when you are training you are in someone elses truck and space will be tight!
Another thing you need to remember when you get into your own truck is having a lot of "stuff" in there and you get canned or whatever might happen like quitting, you have to get that "stuff" home and busses and airlines charge $50 for extra bags or overweight "stuff" so pack and live according to what you either want to sell or leave behind!skoshi130 and The Challenger Thank this. -
Actually, all of the above stuff including the stuff for my own truck fits into a large (4' tall x 2' wide x 2' deep) suitcase with wheels and a backpack. It's made of very dufflebag-like material with lots of pockets. My clothes and such fit into the large bag while my day-to-day item fit into the backpack.

Good list, but I'd take a 0 degree sleeping bag

I bought my duffel roller at Ross for about $22 and it was on sale. I can fit the following with no issue:
pillow
7 pairs of pants
9 t-shirts
9 pairs of underwear
14 pairs of socks
2 sweatshirts
gloves
rain gear
100 watt inverter
cell phone and charger
camera and charger
atlas-truckers edition
deck shoes
personal hygiene materials
Also bring a back pack with the stuff rollover mentions.
Note: I roll my shirts, pants underwear up for it saves space. For my dirty clothes; I use walmart grocery bags as they fit nicely. I dislike using a trash bag as my dirty clothes smell worse. I also bring fabric softeners used the dryer to prevent bad odors.
KHCadetTrucker and superroo1 Thank this. -

I've never used one of these because I've never needed to. Would you say that you could use one of these on a CB radio, TV, and such? I'd like to not have to take my stuff out of my truck any time I have to turn it into the terminal for mantenance, etc. I'm nervous about stuff getting stolen.
