It's ok to use the GPS. But you need to look up and plan your trip ahead of time. Know where your going instead of just being told.

I've never had any trouble with my GPS, but I've heard stories from other drivers who've wound up in some tough situations 'cause the GPS messed up. So I usually take a look at my atlas before I hit the road, and then I listen to the GPS once I'm on the highway. (I rarely look at the screen, the little voice gives me enough advance warning for turns and exits etc). By looking at the atlas, I get my bearings for where I'm going, so I'm more likely to know if my GPS is directing me wrong.

How many months of experience does he have?

Well you better get good at trip planning... And you may be good at backing now in a straight line with no obstructions.... But wait until you have too back that trailer into a alley dock.... Blindsided.... In NYC..... With cars parked all around..... And traffic that would much rather hit you then stop for you.... You will realize you suck at backing as well.

    Hey guys,

Just got my CDL permit today. I am fairly certain that I will be team driving but with a trainer first.

I was planning on taking the following:
    -My brief case
    -Duffle bag
    -Sleeping bag
What size duffle bag would be good? Is an army duffle bag to big?

I searched the forum and the size of the duffle bag didn't come up or was buried to deep for me to find.

I would say a army duffle bag would be about right.
You would not believe what some people turn up with..

One suggestion bring some extra pillows, they do help with comfort when sleeping running team.
