You are soooo right about doin some research Smurfette.

When I first started looking for an internet card I picked Cricket and they have good coverage in my area, but when I looked at being out on the road they have very limited coverage. I wanted an iphone and not even bother with a computer, but again coverage was a problem. If I was gonna be on a dedicated route where I know the coverage is there I would go with one of those two.

Yeah ATT really dosnet have the coverage that Verizon had and Cricket your pushing it. I have an ATT phone I have never had much of a problem with their service as far as texting but calls just suck in some areas. With my netbook I can text if need be but I dont know how much that would end up costing me in the end.

Texting with ATT is about the same as TMobile; I've had TMobile for six years. A bundle of 1,000 text messages is $9.99. I always think the ancient Mayans would look at people texting today and shake their heads in bewilderment. Texting = form over function...

Excellent thread, by the way! Very timely for me. I'm scheduled to get my CDL Class A license in a few weeks and then hope to work/drive as soon as possible. Will look into the Garmin nuvi 465. Thanks, all.

This may be a dumb question, but im going to start training soon and im curious, when I go for 3 weeks of training, do I go out with the trainer then, or after the three weeks? How long are you usually with a trainer? Im not trying to thread jack, just curious.

Usually when training with a company it means with a trainer and the Tina out with the trainer varies from company to company usually student drivers are out on a average of 4 weeks but I heard of some companies completing training on experience Nd I heard others require 6 weeks mandatory no mater how good a driver you are you should ask your recruiter that question
    Good luck

What about a porta pottie? If you are a female student and you have a male trainer, does it matter about a porta pottie? and even if it is a female trainer, which I heard are few and far between, would she have her own porta pottie for use for both of you?????something to think about. Yeah that is a bit of a weird thought isnt it? But on the same subject.... I would think your trainer would stay up with you for the first week or so and sit in the co-pilot seat. But after a while you will be driving as if you are a team. So you would always be moving and if your moving your using gas and have to go to truck stops so the middle of the night pottie breaks and so on. Just my 2 cents.

HAHAHA You might get a little bit more then just training from your trainer if you use there porta potty. there are sufficent ammount of rest rooms on the road and people who need porta potties other then having a medical condition in my opinion are lazy just my 2 cents:biggrin_25513:

Do they send male trainers out with women when they have to sleep in the cab together?...Doesn't seem kosher if so...I'd request a woman trainer, if possible...
