    Transportation is exempt from having to pay overtime although some do like where im at now.

    Just noticing your location; so your post would be referencing the rules in the U.S. only. Up here overtime is mandatory. For federally regulated OTR drivers they must be paid overtime after 60 hours in a week, or 50 hours in a week which has a holiday.

    Intra-provincial carriers are subject to whatever rules are in place for that province and some companies pay overtime at a rate better than the regulations require.
