Are you telling them about your felonies from 11 years ago? If the application doesn't ask to go back that far, don't disclose. Only talk about it if asked. That should be long enough in which it shouldn't hold you back.

That's correct, you shouldn't have to worry or mention it. I got out in 80 and started trucking in 93, so my non violent felony was 13yrs old. You know you can get it expunged now? I hear it's a lot cheaper nowadays too! When I did mine, I had two of them and they cost $1k each. But in the long run it was worth it. My only gripe about mine is that I never had to mention it, but then my company started sending me up into Canada, and after the first time I didn't wanna go no more. So I would tell dispatch that I was a felon and couldn't go into Canada! But they would just laugh and give me the load anyways.

One thing a felon can't do is hold a public office, such as a judge, senator, the president. But I know, they're the biggest crooks, at least it seems that way, right?

I didn't because it only asked for the last 7 years or 10 years. But then when I have a phone interview, they would ask, have I ever been convicted of a felony. Thats when they turn me down. I just can't win.
