Lonewolf,
That would be the best idea ever. It would be very hard to refuse that deal unless they wanted to charge a ridiculous price. Consider today's cost for parking, shower and meal at about $40.00 what could they possibly charge to make it a deal. It will be very interesting to see the replies to this. -
There’s one in PA that offers a $5 coupon. Or did, at least. They charged $10 to park, and the food wasn’t bad.
Just wished I could remember the name. -
$40 is a rip-off but for $15-20 per night I think a shower and meal should be included. After all hotels give a free breakfast and shower.
-
A hotel room costs a lot more than $20 and the meal you get for free costs them about $0.15 - $0.25 per bed. ( Ex is in hotel management and those numbers are probably 12+ years old). Most guests don't eat the free food which reduces the cost even more. So, not a very good comparison to truck stops.roshea Thanks this.

No because there would be even more truckstops with nothing but paid parking, and lets be honest the showers would be dirtier than they already are and the meals would not be worth it
-
It would depend on what the meal consisted of, and how much they were charging to park. If they were giving just hot dogs and charging 15.00 or 20.00 I don't think it would be worth it.
-
That's not a sweet deal. You get a shower for free when you get fuel at any truck stop just about. Everything inside the truck stop is overcharged. Why should we be charged in order to be compliant with HOS? Your best truck stops in the country don't even have to charge for parking because they have everything drivers need. The one in Cuba, MO comes to mind. Big lot, showers, laundry, buffet, cheap smokes, beer, lounge, quick food, repair shop, everything you need
-
It sounds like good deal but they would probably have charge so much it would not be worth it. It would be like $40
I don't believe the $15 to park is worth $15. If they truly want to change for just what we use vs including it in the fuel price. Because lots of driver shop at walWalm then want free parking at truck stop. That model probably can't keep going. Maybe $5 or something.
Love's still has free parking and cheap fuel but smaller parking lots. It seems like the good idea of resevere park for a couple spots went wrong and now some TA/Petro have 2/3 paid parking. The restaurants are empty most times now. -
I use points for reserved parking often. Will also pay for it when needed. It takes a lot of stress off me at the end of the day.
Dale thompson Thanks this.
