Thank you for all the responses.
@Ridgeline- I thought that I read somewhere that Freightliner had a problem with their primer adhesion on certain year trucks, maybe that's what happened here but it's only those spots.
I read somewhere that you're supposed to contrast your colors when you paint something two tone. So you're supposed to put a lighter color with a darker. The blue on this truck looks a little darker but it's one of those colors that in the sun it kind of changes a bit. But I think I like the silver.
It's funny because I've had several silver cars and several blue cars, the irony that I would end up with a silver and blue truck, LOL.
Any other thoughts on the subject feel free to respond.
When I'm ready I'll start with just the top and see if I need to paint anything else like a pinstripe or painting the fenders to make a better contrast.
Will do.

Yep bad prep job on original paint job. Cheap would be sand her down and paint top black; would look ok.
Make some good nozels now in rattle cans. -
You know, I do prefer the silver.
But I just remembered that I bought 2 gallons of black paint for my frame. I'm sure that I would have enough to give it a shot with that black paint without spending any more money.
Hmmm... I do have primer for it also.
I'll have to think about that. -
Get you a can of metallic silver ( good stuff) when the black is tacky mist it with silver; have to move fast and consistent to blend in prefect.
Right before winter comes ( gives top time to fade in with age ), metallic rest of truck then clear coat entirety of truck.
Wet sand remaining blue as you can, then prep it well and dust with silver. Don't even need to tap this part, just use cardboard to keep over spray off non paint items.
Next time your home for reset, take care of the woman, kids: wash up the truck the next morning,,, wash her up good. (no wax soap) tap her up and clear coat. Be ready to travel again in two days. Multi colors hide imperfections. -
Would you consider a wrap? Probably could get ot done for 2k or so.
-
If only doing the top with plans to repaint the whole truck, you could wrap it yourself (with a helper) in a couple hours for probably under $200. Rattle cans would probably be the easiest and most cost effective temporary fix though.

If you’re doing a full repaint later then if it were me I’d find a rattle can that was “close enough” and touch it up for now. Being high up it doesn’t have to be perfect, and I wouldn’t spend a bunch of money on it if you’re going to have it done right in the future.
buddyd157 Thanks this. -
Flat black would reflect heat or even the original colour in a matte finish
Tug Toy Thanks this. -
to reflect the sun, he could also install a gigantic mirror on his roof too...however, any space weapons or "space force" we are going to get in the future, may aim the missles at him, thinking he is trying to blind them for his ultra secret attack...!!!!!!!!!Tug Toy Thanks this.

Thanks for all the replies.
I have black paint that I bought to paint the frame. So before I paint the frame, I'm going to mask off the top and just hit it, hit the frame, and I'm done.
That's just the cheapest fastest way that I can do it. Maybe I'll buy some black pinstripes later on for contrast.
The paint that I use for the frame is Sherwin-Williams raven black. I've sprayed a few frames before with that, and they really turned out nicely.
After I do the painting I'll add some photos.Tug Toy Thanks this.
