I used oven cleaner and a couple old credit cards. I'm not sure that's the BEST way, but it was effective. After I got 99% of it off, I took the buffer to it for a few min. Make sure to use lots of paper towel as well, the oven cleaner mixed in with whatever color your letters were will run and leave streaks in the paint.

JMHO (I think?), I hope they reserve a special place in helll for people who paint numbers/letter/pinstripes all over the #### truck.

Like the above post said oven cleaner is all I've ever heard used, maybe give a body shop a call and see if they know something better..

well i talked with a body shop today and they said some lacquer thinner. not sure id really want to try that...im afraid it would take the clear coat off too.

If it is original paint the oven cleaner or the lacquer will work. I've used oven cleaner and it works fine. Just do a small area at a time. The hardware store sells nylon scrapers. Keep a bucket of water to rinse it off. I just went over the surface when i was done with some cleaner wax.

reduser would work as well --pour on a rag and rub it--or thinner
