The amp is a 2x4 (6LF6's). I have been told that if I run this amp on low I could drive it with my Galaxy 94hp. Anyone know if this is true? Hate to let the smoke out because I didn't ask first.

That's alot of radio (100 watts) to run into a small amp.
rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -
After doing a little research it seems that the low side removes the driver tubes from the equation and the input from the radio goes straight into the 4 final tubes. I am just wondering if 100w isn't to much for the 4 6lf6's.

If you're running a 100 watt radio. WHY would you need a 300 watt amp anyway? You really wouldn't gain anything. And that's what I was saying in post #2.12 ga, darthanubis, rabbiporkchop and 1 other person Thank this. -
I get what you're saying, I just got this amp a few weeks ago and was reading up on it, and I read that. I was just wondering if anyone had previous experience with one is all. I rarely talk on my base radio anymore anyway, the ops around here are getting rather childish and power hungry. The 94hp rides in my pickup, and the amp stays home. I was driving it with a 99v, but I picked up an old 2000gtl (hasn't been butchered) from a friend of mine that needed some cash. That 2000 is a nice looking radio too.

You will need a 4 pill or bigger HD amp and get you dead key set or you will be killing amps.300 watts wont make that big of a difference from 100 watts as far as sounding any bigger. If it has a receive amp there nice to have.

6lf6 is rated at 40 times 2 so if u run it on the low side at 80 watts max you should be ok ,mine loads better on 15meter if on low let it swing
