I have the same issue. I have one for my rci 2970n4 and a regular 4 pin one and they both squeal something horrible. I thought it was just me and something in my truck. No matter what radio I use them on. they squeal.Diesel Dave Thanks this.

Who tuned the radio?
Where did you have the TalkBack level set?
Where was the mic gain level set? -
The radio a 2970n4 and the mike were purchased and tuned at the same time from Mark at Fine Tune. There is no talk back and to stop the squealing you need to turn the mike gain down to a 1/4 way open or 9 o'clock. As soon as I key the mike. the radios meter goes straight up and people tell me I am squealing. Stock mike and cheap mike all work fine.

Oh oh, that doesn’t sound good considering who worked on it.Diesel Dave Thanks this. -
I find it interesting that they consider the mic element itself noise canceling. Looking at the specs, it would be a nice element to use. -
Now that I think about it, since the sl41 mic uses an electret element, you won’t need to run the mic gain very high. Wouldnt think it would cause a squeal in the radio though. -
Maybe not on a stock radio but one that's had the audio frequency response altered with the mic gain open loud enough for you to hear it's very easy to make it squeal.
