Prime Inc. will send a bus ticket to you & provide lodging and front food money. They pay trainees $600.00a week while riding with a trainer. $100.00 processing fee after you arrive. You can get flatbed training there also. Check their website.
Swift has a good program & so does Central Refrigerated.

Would it be wrong for me to think, that as long as I got that years experience under me, that that's really what counts? No matter what company trained you?
-
Doesn't matter where you get training; 6 mos. to 1 year later many doors open for the good jobs. If money is tight, take the cheapest way.

The Driver Solutions agent, whom is working with me, I think mentioned that USA Truck also does schooling with them. But, my concern is affording the necessary gas funds to drive to Indy. Other than that, I feel this may be the best way to go. It seems that in most my research, several schools are 3-4 week programs. And many have Big companies, or other companies will offer to pay a student drivers way, as long as they agree to drive for them for a specified amount of time. And knowing that I would be a new driver, en-experienced driver, the mileage rate wouldn't be the best, nor the equipment. But hey, gotta start somewhere right? I just only hope that my calling this agent tomorrow won't lock me into an unforeseen agreement that I won't be able to keep. Plus, I do have a 4 year old daughter, whom I care for more than the world. Thats another reason for me doing this. At Dairy Queen, I average maybe $700/monthly. I'm positive, that doing trucking would help me make more than that. Even starting out new.
